Emma has more than seven years of publishing and media experience, including newspaper writing, academic editing, and documentary film research. She is a recent graduate from McGill University in Canada, where she studied political science and international development.
While attending McGill, Emma was an active student journalist who regularly reported on American politics, focusing on local government, urbanism, and social justice. Since she started at SMPA in September 2020, Emma’s passion for local politics has underpinned her work with the Santa Barbara County Public Health Department.
As a Los Angeles native, Emma is a proud Californian who is always eager to serve and empower community members by connecting them to information.
