Katie Weschler has more than a decade of experience in media and public relations and has worked with a variety of clients ranging from municipal governments, public hospitals, school districts and universities, and nonprofits.
Katie began her career in local television news as a producer at KSBY-TV in San Luis Obispo, and later joined the world of public relations with an interest focused on community engagement, stakeholder building, and public policy. Katie’s public relations clients have reached across the public sector and include the Port of Hueneme, Santa Barbara County Public Health Department, Los Osos Community Services District, the City of San Luis Obispo, Natividad Medical Center, San Luis Obispo Tourism Business Improvement District, Sierra Vista and Twin Cities Medical Centers, Cal Poly College of Architecture, Cal Poly Office of Sustainability, NextEra Energy, and Pacific Gas & Electric.
Katie holds a Master of Public Policy and a Bachelor of Science in broadcast journalism, both from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. She is married to a United States Army officer and is involved in the military community’s volunteer humanitarian efforts. She is passionate about helping her government clients connect with the communities they serve through innovative, fun, and engaging public relations campaigns.
