Liza Sacilioc

Director, Public Relations and Marketing

Liza SaciliocLiza Sacilioc’s specialty is storytelling, whether it is capturing the essence of an organization through feature stories that would otherwise go untold or creating communications strategies that elevate an organization’s mission and leadership.

Liza has worked in a variety of sectors from consumer products, services and technology, nonprofits to arts and entertainment over the past 18 years. In her role at SMPA, Liza raises awareness of client programs, services, and success stories by managing, planning and executing public relations campaign strategies, as well as through the creation of on point editorial content, backgrounders, biographies, byline articles, newsletter features, blog articles, and more.

She graduated from Long Beach State University with a degree in journalism. Her early work experiences in print media and a small boutique PR agency gave her an understanding of how the two forms of media work together. Liza began her career as a project manager at Edge Communications, Inc., where she helped launch PR campaigns for national companies such as CarsDirect.com, NetZero.net, Ebates.com, Casio Phonemate. She also founded Smitten, the first female-focused snowboarding shop in Los Angeles. As co-founder and president, she spearheaded all of Smitten’s branding, PR and social media marketing efforts, which resulted in features in Angeleno, Los Angeles Magazine, Pasadena Star News and several trade and online publications. From 2000-2012, Liza served as a PR volunteer for MEND (Meet Each Need with Dignity), the San Fernando Valley’s largest anti-poverty nonprofit agency.

Liza grew up in the San Fernando Valley and now lives in Glendale with her husband, daughter and son. When she isn’t working, you can find her spending time with her family or planning their next adventure. Eventually, she would like to learn how to speak French so she can keep up with her kids who are currently enrolled in a French-immersion program.
